The Emergency Center
In 1996, there was a need within the Ford Heights, Illinois area, for a sanctuary or a place of safety to serve women who were victims of abuse. Verbal, child, spousal, elderly and substance abuse was increasing rapidly. It seemed as if many of the surrounding institutions, either ignored the problem by not addressing it, or were unequipped to accommodate any more victims. A place was needed immediately, that could offer security from any retribution and freedom from the inconvenience of relocating.
M.N.A.M.-Faith Crusade Missions was offered a house to use in the carrying out of its missions. Because of the urgency and the immediate need, the house was named, "The Emergency Center". Six months had past when the house was vandalized by the local police department. The sign was ripped from the house, which was criminal damage to property, if done by a regular citizen. The "Village of Ford Heights" began to launch an offensive to eliminate any positive force that did not pay tribute to its destructive regime. Even though the majority of clients were relatives of the local government, they continued their assault.
